About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach an undergraduate course focused on the professional career of heritage recording artists within the music industry.
- Deliver weekly lectures covering creative, legal, and commercial considerations of an artist's career.
- Guide students through project-based learning, including designing and executing promotional strategies for track reissues on digital platforms.
- Cover key industry topics such as digital and catalog marketing, sampling, trademark rights, recording agreements, and master rights.
- Instruct students on streaming (playlist pitching), social media content creation, publicity, and sync/micro-sync opportunities.
- Support the creation of a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment for all students and faculty.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent professional experience in the music industry.
- Proven experience in music marketing and catalog music marketing.
- Demonstrated commitment to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion in an educational setting.
