Adjunct Faculty: Music

Responsibilities

• Instruct in-person private music lessons based on your specific instrument of expertise
• Lead musical ensembles
• Assist in the evaluation, articulation, revision, and development of music programs and curriculum
• Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities
• Assist with the evaluation and selection of textbooks and other instructional resource materials
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Visual and Performing Arts Department Chair and the Academic Dean

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Music OR a Master’s Degree including at least 18 graduate-level credit hours in Music
• Proven experience teaching at the post-secondary level
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills
• Ability to motivate students and establish professional interpersonal relationships with students, faculty, and staff
• Ability to work collaboratively as a team member with a spirit of cooperation and flexibility

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate-level education specifically applicable to teaching undergraduate music courses
• Extensive experience teaching music courses at the post-secondary level
