About the role
Responsibilities
- Engage in instructional activities for in-person, hybrid, or online courses within the Legal Studies Department
- Prepare teaching materials, including syllabi, and maintain competence in subject matter
- Assess student performance through written examinations, papers, presentations, and projects
- Provide academic accommodations for students with documented disabilities
- Confer with students regarding course materials and direct individual or group studies
- Manage administrative tasks such as grading, responding to emails, and submitting attendance and grades
Requirements
- Juris Doctor from an ABA-approved law school and admission to the Maryland Bar, or a Master's degree in a law-related field
- Experience teaching at the college level or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Experience working with Blackboard or a similar Learning Management System (LMS)
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed and travel between campuses
