About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach laboratory content for chemistry courses designed for both majors and non-majors
- Select appropriate textbooks and teaching aids necessary for laboratory instruction
- Instruct students on the application of techniques used in analytical and biological chemistry
- Supervise and maintain laboratory facilities and equipment
- Oversee laboratory safety during sessions, preparation, and clean-up procedures
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Sciences (Chemistry or Biochemistry) from an accredited institution
- Experience with analytical techniques such as FTIR, X-ray spectroscopy, NMR, HPLC, or mass spectrometry
- Experience with protein purification, molecular biology, or calorimetry
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse population of students
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior college or university laboratory teaching experience
