Adjunct Faculty - Laboratory Instructor, Biology

Responsibilities

• Teach laboratory content for biology courses designed for both majors and non-majors
• Instruct students on the application of various biological laboratory techniques
• Select appropriate textbooks and teaching aids necessary for laboratory instruction
• Supervise and maintain laboratory equipment and facilities
• Grade student assignments and weekly laboratory reports
• Oversee laboratory safety during sessions, preparation, and clean-up

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biological Sciences from an accredited institution
• Practical experience with techniques such as microscopy, gram staining, bacterial cultures, EKG, or dissections
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse population of students

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience teaching in a college or university laboratory setting
• Knowledge of and commitment to the university’s philosophy and mission
