About the role

Responsibilities

  • Teach weekly private applied voice lessons to undergraduate music majors, minors, and non-majors
  • Lead periodic studio classes for students
  • Participate in end-of-semester juries and assessments
  • Potential opportunities to teach additional courses as needed

Requirements

  • Master's degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Demonstrated potential for successful teaching at the college level
  • Successful track record as a performer
  • Understanding of the ideals and goals of an undergraduate liberal arts education

Preferred Qualifications

  • Pedagogical expertise in both classical and music theater approaches
  • Skills in piano accompanying
  • Demonstrated potential to be effective in Conservatory recruitment and outreach
  • Ability to demonstrate pedagogical practices that cultivate a sense of belonging and inclusivity
