About the role

Responsibilities

  • Teach English courses including Conversation, Grammar, Reading, and Writing to learners of varying proficiency levels.
  • Prepare course outlines, syllabi, and lesson plans in accordance with university guidelines.
  • Select appropriate textbooks and teaching aids to support instruction.
  • Evaluate student performance and provide feedback.
  • Create a vibrant and welcoming learning environment sensitive to diverse cultural needs.
  • Organize weekly co-curricular events, such as excursions and field trips, within the DC area.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with students from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year of teaching or tutoring experience.
  • ESL certification (TESOL or TEFL).
