About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach English courses including Conversation, Grammar, Reading, and Writing to learners of varying proficiency levels.
- Prepare course outlines, syllabi, and lesson plans in accordance with university guidelines.
- Select appropriate textbooks and teaching aids to support instruction.
- Evaluate student performance and provide feedback.
- Create a vibrant and welcoming learning environment sensitive to diverse cultural needs.
- Organize weekly co-curricular events, such as excursions and field trips, within the DC area.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of teaching or tutoring experience.
- ESL certification (TESOL or TEFL).
