About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach pertinent course content for majors and non-majors using lectures, demonstrations, and class discussions
- Prepare syllabi, course materials, and daily lesson plans
- Meet for at least one conference with each student in assigned classes
- Attend composition program meetings and orientation sessions
- Track attendance and manage course documents via the Course Management System (D2L Brightspace)
- Post midterm and final grades in the university system
- Attend a play with the assigned class
Requirements
- Master’s degree in English or a related field from an accredited university
- Successful teaching record with a strong emphasis on research writing
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with a diverse population of students
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of and commitment to the university’s philosophy and mission
- Experience using AI ethically within the English curriculum
Preferred Qualifications
- Terminal degree in English or a related field
