Adjunct Faculty - English Department

Responsibilities

• Instruct students in First Year Writing courses, specifically ENGL 101 and ENGL 102
• Assess student progress through timely grading and required record keeping
• Maintain clear and timely communication with students and department leadership
• Deliver well-prepared classes using strong organizational and time management skills
• Mentor and nurture students with a compassionate, Christlike spirit to support their academic and spiritual growth

Requirements

• Master’s degree in English, Writing, or a related discipline
• Minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in English, Writing, or a related discipline
• Commitment to the mission and values of Southern Adventist University

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in college-level teaching
• Demonstrated ability to teach critical thinking in academic reading and writing
