Adjunct Faculty- Department of Chemistry

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver lectures for 100-level chemistry courses, such as General Chemistry or Organic and Biochemistry
• Oversee laboratory experiments and coordinate laboratory operations
• Create, administer, and grade assessments, including homework, lab work, and examinations
• Manage classroom environments and maintain student attendance and grade records
• Provide student support through regularly scheduled office hours to assist with academic and career guidance
• Coordinate with department members to ensure consistency across multiple course sections

Requirements

• Master's degree in chemistry or a related discipline
• Demonstrated commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative team skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Ph.D. in chemistry or a related discipline
• Experience with alternative instructional modes, such as web-based instruction or cooperative learning
• Interest in integrated curricula
