About the role
Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver lectures for 100-level chemistry courses, such as General Chemistry or Organic and Biochemistry
- Oversee laboratory experiments and coordinate laboratory operations
- Create, administer, and grade assessments, including homework, lab work, and examinations
- Manage classroom environments and maintain student attendance and grade records
- Provide student support through regularly scheduled office hours to assist with academic and career guidance
- Coordinate with department members to ensure consistency across multiple course sections
Requirements
- Master's degree in chemistry or a related discipline
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative team skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. in chemistry or a related discipline
- Experience with alternative instructional modes, such as web-based instruction or cooperative learning
- Interest in integrated curricula
