Adjunct Faculty, Criminal Justice

Responsibilities

• Engage in instructional activities including classroom teaching, laboratory work, or hybrid/online course delivery
• Prepare teaching materials, write syllabi, and maintain subject matter competence
• Assess student performance through reviewing examinations, papers, presentations, and projects
• Provide timely feedback on coursework and manage grading within established timeframes
• Confer with students regarding course materials and provide academic accommodations for documented disabilities
• Maintain professional and ethical conduct in all interactions with students, colleagues, and the university community

Requirements

• Master’s degree in criminal justice or a closely related field from an accredited institution
• Three years of practical Criminal Justice experience in a professional setting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
• Experience working with Blackboard or a similar Learning Management System (LMS)
• Ability to teach in-person classes at the Owings Mills, MD campus
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Doctorate degree in criminal justice or a related field
• Demonstrated experience in inclusive pedagogy and working with diverse student populations
