About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide quality instruction to traditional and non-traditional students in assigned Criminal Justice courses
- Utilize current pedagogical methods to foster active and engaged learning
- Develop, distribute, and review course syllabi according to college standards
- Provide supplemental instruction to enhance textbooks and lessons
- Use effective evaluation methods to measure student performance
- Maintain accurate records, including attendance, grades, and evaluations
- Remain abreast of ongoing developments and practices within the teaching discipline
Requirements
- Master’s degree in criminal justice or a related legal discipline
- Minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in criminal procedure or a related legal discipline
- Ability to use technology and online ancillaries
- Demonstrated competency in effective verbal and written communication
Preferred Qualifications
- Earned doctorate or terminal degree in criminal justice or a related legal discipline
- Prior college-level teaching experience
- Experience with Brightspace or a similar learning management system (LMS)
