About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach lectures and laboratories for chemistry courses catering to both majors and non-majors
- Deliver course content through lectures, demonstrations, and class discussions to promote effective learning
- Prepare course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, and select appropriate textbooks and teaching aids
- Engage with students by providing notes, timely grades, and feedback via the Learning Management System (LMS)
- Supervise and maintain laboratory equipment and ensure safety during laboratory sessions, preparation, and clean-up
Requirements
- Master's or Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related field from an accredited institution
- Ability to integrate technology into course delivery
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse population of students
- Knowledge of, and commitment to, the university’s philosophy and mission
Preferred Qualifications
- Academic coursework in organic chemistry, biochemistry, or inorganic chemistry
- Prior college or university laboratory teaching experience
