About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach lectures and laboratories for various biology courses for both majors and non-majors
- Prepare course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, and select appropriate textbooks and teaching aids
- Deliver course content through lectures, demonstrations, and class discussions
- Engage students by providing notes, timely grades, and feedback via a Learning Management System (LMS)
- Supervise and maintain laboratory equipment and ensure safety during lab sessions, preparation, and clean-up
Requirements
- Master's or Ph.D. in Biological Sciences or a related field from an accredited institution
- Ability to integrate technology into course delivery
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with a diverse population of students
Preferred Qualifications
- Academic coursework in anatomy, physiology, microbiology, genetics, or environmental science
- Prior college or university laboratory teaching experience
- Knowledge of and commitment to the university’s philosophy and mission
