Adjunct Faculty: Aviation Maintenance Technology

Responsibilities

• Instruct aviation maintenance courses within the FAA-approved Part 147 aircraft maintenance training school (AMTS)
• Supervise and maintain a safe environment for students in maintenance labs
• Develop and maintain lab equipment, tooling, aircraft, and classroom aids
• Assist in the development, modification, and evaluation of curriculum to meet industry standards
• Maintain student records and instructional materials in accordance with FAA 14 CFR Part 141
• Participate in student advising, registration, recruiting, and retention activities
• Engage in ongoing professional development and maintain contact with the FAA and aviation industry

Requirements

• Current FAA Part 65 mechanic certificate with appropriate Airframe and/or Powerplant ratings
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a mechanic OR 1 year of documented military occupational experience OR 3 years of general aviation experience
• Ability to obtain an Aims CTE Credential
• Computer literacy and ability to use technology for classroom and lab instruction
• Ability to teach in varied modalities, including online, synchronous remote, and face-to-face
• Ability to pass a pre-employment urine analysis and an MVR check for business travel

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree in Aviation Maintenance or a related field
• Experience teaching and supporting traditionally underserved student populations
• Demonstrated aptitude for developing course content for hybrid and blended learning environments
