Adjunct Faculty - Applied Technology (Construction)

Responsibilities

• Instruct students in construction management courses and associated labs covering theoretical and hands-on aspects of residential and commercial construction.
• Prepare instructional materials and develop or select appropriate curriculum for assigned courses.
• Assess student progress through timely grading and required record keeping according to university guidelines.
• Uphold university values and departmental policies in all classroom and lab environments.
• Stay current with industry trends, trade skills, and new technologies in the construction field.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a construction management related field.
• Demonstrated trade competencies in relevant areas such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, masonry, or HVAC.
• Ability to develop curriculum in accordance with industry standards.
• Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities to work effectively with university students.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a construction management related field.
• Successful college-level teaching experience.
• Valid General Contractors license.
• Recent professional work experience in the construction industry.
• Knowledge of OSHA and Tennessee health and safety regulations.
• Formal training or continuing education in specific construction trades.
