About the role
Responsibilities
- Instruct students in theoretical and hands-on automotive technology courses and associated labs
- Prepare and develop instructional materials for assigned courses
- Assess student progress through timely grading and required record keeping
- Teach day and/or evening classes as scheduled in consultation with the department chair
- Stay current with evolving automotive technology trends and standards
- Uphold university values and departmental policies in all classroom and lab environments
Requirements
- Earned ASE certifications in automotive areas relevant to the course content
- Proven experience with current automotive technology standards and trends
- Willingness to integrate new skills and emerging technologies into instruction
Preferred Qualifications
- Master level ASE certification
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in an automotive technology related field
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to work effectively with university students
- Formal training and continuing education in automotive technology
- Recent professional work experience within the automotive industry
