About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide quality instruction for HIS 225: American Government, covering national, state, and local political systems.
- Use current pedagogical methods to foster active and engaged learning for traditional and non-traditional students.
- Develop, distribute, and review course syllabi in accordance with college standards.
- Prepare for each learning experience and provide supplemental instruction to enhance textbooks and lessons.
- Maintain accurate academic records, including attendance, grades, and evaluations.
- Communicate effectively with students through both verbal and written expression.
Requirements
- Master's degree in American Government, Political Science, or a related teaching discipline.
- Demonstrated teaching competencies and the ability to provide effective instruction.
- Ability to use technology and online ancillaries to support learning.
- Strong communication, ethical conduct, and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Earned doctorate or terminal degree in the teaching discipline.
- Prior experience teaching at the college level.
- Experience using Brightspace or a similar Learning Management System (LMS).
