Adjunct Faculty – American Government

Responsibilities

• Provide quality instruction for HIS 225: American Government, covering national, state, and local political systems.
• Use current pedagogical methods to foster active and engaged learning for traditional and non-traditional students.
• Develop, distribute, and review course syllabi in accordance with college standards.
• Prepare for each learning experience and provide supplemental instruction to enhance textbooks and lessons.
• Maintain accurate academic records, including attendance, grades, and evaluations.
• Communicate effectively with students through both verbal and written expression.

Requirements

• Master's degree in American Government, Political Science, or a related teaching discipline.
• Demonstrated teaching competencies and the ability to provide effective instruction.
• Ability to use technology and online ancillaries to support learning.
• Strong communication, ethical conduct, and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Earned doctorate or terminal degree in the teaching discipline.
• Prior experience teaching at the college level.
• Experience using Brightspace or a similar Learning Management System (LMS).
