About the role
Responsibilities
- Instruct undergraduate students in Computer Programming courses through lectures and hands-on lab sessions
- Prepare and organize instruction to maximize student learning and knowledge retention
- Develop syllabi, learning aids, and research materials to support course objectives
- Utilize current classroom technology and learning management systems for effective teaching
- Maintain responsiveness to students through posted office hours and electronic communication
- Complete required college reports, timely grading, and Quality Matters certification
- Participate in the development and administration of core assessments
Requirements
- AAS in Computer Programming or a related field
- 3 years of related professional work experience
- Demonstrated proficiency using computer applications and learning management systems (Canvas preferred)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Commitment to diversity, academic excellence, and exceptional service
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Programming
- Completion of 18 graduate-level credit hours in Computer Programming
- Successful teaching experience at the community college or dual credit level
