About the role

Responsibilities

  • Teach the undergraduate Human Anatomy and Physiology I course, covering the structure and function of the human body.
  • Facilitate in-person laboratories, including the use of virtual dissection tables.
  • Utilize standardized course materials, assessments, and activities provided via the Blackboard platform.
  • Ensure all course planning and material posting is completed prior to the first day of class.
  • Maintain presence for all course meetings and final exam periods, and hold office hours to assist students.
  • Monitor student progress, grade assignments, and submit midterm and final grades by university deadlines.
  • Complete required faculty training, such as cybersecurity training, during the semester.
  • Support the mission, vision, and values of Elmhurst University.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in biology or a related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching undergraduate students.

Benefits

  • Compensation for a standard 1.0 credit (4 semester hour) course is $3,800-$4,000.
  • New part-time faculty start at the Adjunct Level 1 rate of $3,800.
