Adjunct Assistant Professor

Responsibilities

• Teach Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) major courses, including clinical chemistry, hematology, blood bank, and immunology
• Deliver instruction for various courses and labs within the CLS major curriculum
• Potentially teach non-CLS courses offered by the biomedical sciences section of the department
• Assess student learning outcomes to ensure academic standards are met

Requirements

• ASCP certification with a NYS CLS Generalist License
• M.S. or Ph.D. in the specific area of teaching interest
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to teach various courses and laboratory sessions
• B.S. degree may be considered if accompanied by ASCP certification and significant clinical laboratory and teaching experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Three years of clinical laboratory experience
• Three years of teaching experience (classroom, seminars, or one-to-one)
• Experience with interprofessional education
• Experience with the assessment of student learning outcomes
