About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) major courses, including clinical chemistry, hematology, blood bank, and immunology
- Deliver instruction for various courses and labs within the CLS major curriculum
- Potentially teach non-CLS courses offered by the biomedical sciences section of the department
- Assess student learning outcomes to ensure academic standards are met
Requirements
- ASCP certification with a NYS CLS Generalist License
- M.S. or Ph.D. in the specific area of teaching interest
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to teach various courses and laboratory sessions
- B.S. degree may be considered if accompanied by ASCP certification and significant clinical laboratory and teaching experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Three years of clinical laboratory experience
- Three years of teaching experience (classroom, seminars, or one-to-one)
- Experience with interprofessional education
- Experience with the assessment of student learning outcomes
