Adjunct Assistant Professor, Environmental Science

Responsibilities

• Provide course instruction for Environmental Science daytime classes
• Ensure student comprehension, knowledge retention, and effective engagement
• Adhere to official course descriptions, master syllabi, and lab schedules
• Prepare and maintain Canvas shells, including recording attendance and posting grades
• Complete grading of student assignments and exams within 5 days
• Submit final grades no later than 48 hours after the conclusion of the last class day
• Participate in student learning outcomes assessment as directed by the School Dean
• Attend departmental meetings and serve on search committees as required

Requirements

• Master's Degree in the discipline, or a Master's in a different discipline with at least 18 graduate credits in Environmental Science
• Alternative: Bachelor's Degree in the discipline plus at least five years of directly related professional field experience and certification/licensure
• Prior teaching experience at the high school or college level, or experience as a trainer/group presenter
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency with technology and recent experience with digital instructional tools
• Must be a resident of NJ, NY, or PA
• Ability to conduct in-person instruction at the Toms River, NJ main campus

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior exposure to online course study or experience using a Learning Management System (LMS)
