About the role

Responsibilities

  • Own build preparation, print programming strategy, manufacturing planning, and technical execution for assigned PBF hardware
  • Provide feedback to design team on printability, DfAM improvements, and manufacturability trade-offs
  • Develop and maintain controlled PBF process documentation, build standards, and work instructions
  • Partner with materials engineering to understand qualification requirements and process changes
  • Lead nonconformance investigations, including root-cause analysis and corrective action recommendations
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to remove blockers and protect hardware delivery
  • Evaluate process changes involving parameters, scan strategy, support design, and heat treatment
  • Use production and quality data to identify trends and improve team throughput
  • Mentor interns and newer engineers in PBF fundamentals and problem solving

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Materials, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering
  • 2+ years of full-time industry experience in metal additive manufacturing or related fields
  • Working knowledge of LPBF process variables, build preparation, and support strategy
  • Proficiency with LPBF additive manufacturing of metallic materials and DfAM fundamentals
  • Hands-on experience with work orders, work instruction creation, and non-conformance resolution
  • Experience with AM tools such as EOSprint, Magics, 3dxpert, or Flow
  • Proficiency with CAD tools such as Siemens NX or Solidworks

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience owning additive manufacturing products through the full lifecycle including machining and post-processing
  • Experience with metal powder handling, tensile testing, metallography, or CT data analysis
  • Experience writing process specifications or AS9100-aligned documentation
  • Proficiency with Jira, MES/ERP systems, Power BI, Tableau, Python, or Minitab
