Responsibilities

  • Understand printing system capabilities and roadmap to implement automation solutions
  • Drive all stages of print production development including DFAM, file preparation, and quality control
  • Analyze in-situ data and post-print part quality to drive continuous improvement
  • Use first-principles thinking to define test methods and provide technical recommendations
  • Document application requirements, statements of work, and standard operating procedures
  • Interface with external customers to communicate technical capabilities and improve DFAM
  • Contribute to internal technology development via detailed design and systems level improvements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering from an ABET accredited university
  • Hands-on design experience from internships or engineering clubs (FSAE, Baja SAE, robotics, etc.)
  • Full life-cycle hardware design experience from hand calcs to CAD to fabrication and testing
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with metal 3D printing (DMLS or LPBF)
  • Master’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
  • Scripting experience in Matlab or similar for toolpath generation
  • Process development experience for metal additive manufacturing
  • Mechanical systems design experience
