ADAS/AD System Software Safety Architect Senior Staff

Responsibilities

• Lead functional safety activities for ADAS/AD stack development to ensure ISO 26262 compliance regarding software architecture and development processes.
• Define and lead the functional safety architecture for ADAS/AD solutions, including Tier-1 and Tier-2 level software architecture and SoC platform interfacing.
• Act as the primary customer interface for safety topics (FuSa & SOTIF), driving alignment and risk management with OEMs and partners.
• Own system-level work products such as Technical Safety Concepts, technical safety requirements, and Safety Cases according to ISO 26262.
• Conduct and support safety analyses including HARA, FMEA, FTA, HAZOP, and SOTIF/ISO 21448 analyses.
• Manage Development Interface Agreements (DIA) and ensure proper requirements management and traceability.
• Collaborate with Cyber Security architects to analyze the impact of ISO 21434 on the safety life cycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 14-18 years of industry experience in Systems, Embedded Software, and Safety Engineering within the automotive domain.
• Minimum of 4 years of direct experience with ISO 26262 (specifically Part 4 and Part 6).
• Proven expertise in safety analysis techniques such as HARA, FMEA, FTA, and HAZOP.
• Extensive experience in defining software architecture and design for ADAS/AD stacks on automotive SoCs.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, or Python.
• Working experience with SoC BSP and middleware frameworks like Adaptive and Classic Autosar.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with SOTIF analysis (ISO 21448) and STPA.
• Knowledge of ISO 8800 and the safety of AI/ML systems.
• Experience with requirements management tools like DOORS or Codebeamer.
• Expertise in applying SEooC (Safety Element out of Context) according to ISO 26262.
• Professional certification in ISO 26262, 21448, or 21434.
• Strong understanding of SoC/ARM architecture, RTOS (Linux/QNX), and low-level BSP software.
