Acute Inpatient Registered Nurse - RN - Dialysis

Responsibilities

• Provide clinically competent care, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned acute inpatient dialysis patients.
• Perform systematic collection and analysis of patient data pre-, during, and post-treatment.
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses to prescribed intradialytic transfusions.
• Coordinate communication with dialysis providers and hospital facility personnel to ensure continuity of care.
• Educate patients and their families regarding basic learning needs and treatment processes.
• Serve as a leader and mentor for new employees and assist with emergency response measures.
• Document all patient data, treatment modifications, and medical justifications accurately in medical records.

Requirements

• Current state nursing licensure.
• Current CPR BLS Certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience.
• Ability to work a full-time schedule consisting of three rotating 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM) per week, plus one on-call Sunday per month.
• Willingness to work across three Philadelphia locations: Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania Main, Good Shepherd Penn Partners, and the 54th and Cedar Avenue location.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in Nephrology nursing.
• Prior experience in acute dialysis.
• Experience in MedSurg or other acute care settings.
