Acute Inpatient Registered Nurse - RN - Dialysis

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate clinically competent care, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation for acute inpatient dialysis patients.
• Perform systematic collection and analysis of patient data pre-, during, and post-treatment, documenting all findings in medical records.
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses to prescribed intradialytic transfusions.
• Collaborate with physicians, primary nurses, and multidisciplinary kidney disease healthcare teams to ensure continuity of care.
• Educate patients and their families regarding basic learning needs and treatment processes.
• Direct and delegate appropriate tasks to direct patient care staff, including LVN/LPNs and Patient Care Technicians.
• Assist with emergency response measures and maintain a safe environment for patients.
• Serve as a resource, mentor, and role model for new and incumbent employees.

Requirements

• Current state nursing licensure (RN).
• Current CPR BLS Certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of Nephrology Nursing experience within the last 2 years as an RN.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting, moving patients, and standing for prolonged periods.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotations, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in acute dialysis settings.
