Acute Inpatient Registered Nurse - RN - Dialysis

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in multiple modalities including hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), ultrafiltration, and apheresis.
• Assess patient responses to treatment and make appropriate adjustments to treatment plans in coordination with physicians.
• Supervise and provide direction to Patient Care Technicians and clerical staff, and offer education to ICU staff regarding CRRT.
• Implement, administer, and monitor patient responses to prescribed intradialytic transfusions.
• Accurately document all treatment information in patient and hospital records.
• Perform machine safety tests, equipment calibration, and disinfection of dialysis equipment and surrounding areas.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate daily patient care plans and ensure continuity of care.

Requirements

• Current state nursing licensure (RN).
• Minimum of one year of RN experience.
• Minimum of 6 months of nephrology experience.
• BLS CPR Recognition.
• Strong assessment skills related to critically ill patients.
• Ability to participate in an on-call rotation, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

• ICU experience.
• ACLS CPR Recognition.
• Certification in Nephrology Nursing or Apheresis Nursing.
• Successful completion of Progressive Renal Education Preparation.
