Acute Inpatient Patient Care Technician

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective hemodialysis therapy for acute inpatient patients in a hospital setting
• Perform patient care under the direct visual supervision of a Registered Nurse
• Set up, prime, and operate equipment for renal replacement therapies, including hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis
• Evaluate vascular access for patency and perform cannulation
• Obtain and record pre- and post-treatment vital signs, weights, and treatment parameters
• Calculate and enter dialysis machine programming for ultrafiltration goals and treatment times
• Monitor patient response to therapy and report any unusual findings or incidents to the RN
• Collect and label specimens for laboratory delivery
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment in compliance with company and regulatory standards

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT) or Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT) certification
• 1-2 years of related experience in a dialysis setting
• Proven experience with dialysis treatments is required
