Acute Inpatient Patient Care Technician

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective hemodialysis therapy for assigned acute inpatient patients
• Perform vascular access cannulation and evaluate access for patency
• Obtain and record pre- and post-treatment vital signs, weights, and treatment parameters
• Set up, prime, and operate renal replacement therapy equipment as directed
• Calculate and enter dialysis machine programming, including ultrafiltration goals and sodium modeling
• Monitor patient response to therapy and report any unusual findings or incidents to the Registered Nurse
• Collect and label specimens for laboratory delivery according to facility policy
• Maintain a safe, clean working environment and participate in quality improvement activities

Requirements

• Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT) certification
• Minimum of 18 months of dialysis experience
• Proven experience working in acute care settings
• High School Diploma or equivalent
