Actuarial Intern

Responsibilities

• Learn and influence end-to-end business aspects including Pricing, Modeling, and Valuation & Capital
• Create life pricing and valuation models for complex products
• Assist in the validation of key assumptions and gather market competition insights
• Use software such as AXIS, R, SQL, and MS Excel to produce and analyze results
• Develop, maintain, and enhance tools to streamline actuarial processes
• Conduct monthly and quarterly valuation reporting and communicate findings to management
• Support monthly and quarterly capital measurement analysis and reporting

Requirements

• Knowledge of MS Office Suite
• Solid technical and analytical skills with strong problem-solving ability
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Must be returning to school after the work term (or require the term as a mandatory graduation component)
• Highly motivated self-starter and team player

Preferred Qualifications

• Pursuing a university degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Statistics, or Mathematics
• Completion of 1-3 CAS/SOA exams
• Previous experience with Moody’s/GGY AXIS
• Programming experience in R, VBA, and SQL
• Knowledge of IFRS17, predictive analytics, and Tableau
