Activity Coordinator - Entomologist

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day implementation of Red Palm Weevil (RPW) control activities and field operations
• Plan and supervise field activities including trapping, monitoring, sampling, and entomological studies
• Conduct field data collection and ensure timely uploading of data to digital platforms
• Prepare weekly and monthly activity updates and report technical or operational challenges
• Act as a primary liaison with national partners, including ministries, agricultural authorities, and farmers
• Support logistics, equipment management, and inventory tracking for traps, lures, and field supplies
• Assist in capacity building through farmer field schools, training workshops, and community outreach

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Entomology, Plant Protection, Agricultural Sciences, or a closely related field
• 3-5 years of experience in pest monitoring, Integrated Pest Management (IPM), or field-based agricultural projects
• Proficiency in Excel and mobile data collection platforms
• Fluency in Arabic and a working knowledge of English
• Ability to travel frequently within the country and work in rural settings
• Experience with Red Palm Weevil or date palms is preferred
