About the role
Responsibilities
- Support the planning and delivery of individual and group recreation programs in alignment with therapeutic goals
- Implement, document, and monitor client participation in activities to contribute to care planning
- Maintain program materials, equipment, and activity areas to ensure safety and readiness
- Compile activity statistics and assist in preparing calendars and program documentation
- Orient and support new staff, students, and volunteers involved in recreation services
- Operate program vehicles for client outings and manage petty cash or activity-related funds
- Represent the organization in a respectful and professional manner, reflecting the mission and values of The Salvation Army
Requirements
- Post-secondary education in Recreation Therapy
- Certification in First Aid + CPR and Food Safety
- Valid driver's license and a clear driver's abstract
- Completion of a Vulnerable Sector Check
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Up to one year of related experience
