Activities Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive recreational and social assessments on participants
• Design and lead therapeutic group activities for physical, cognitive, and social wellness
• Create monthly activity calendars for the center
• Coordinate with Physical and Occupational Therapists to incorporate restorative goals
• Contribute to Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) care planning and SMART goal creation
• Monitor participant progress and document interventions accurately
• Engage participants with cognitive impairment or dementia using de-escalation techniques
• Maintain activity supplies, equipment, and safe spaces

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Recreational Therapy or related field or equivalent experience
• 1-3 years of experience with aging and frail populations
• Active CPR/BLS certification
• Experience conducting social assessments and documenting behavioral trends
• Ability to adapt activities for diverse cognitive and physical levels
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for interdisciplinary teamwork

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS)
• Activity Professional Certification (APC)
• Bilingual in Spanish, Mandarin, or Cantonese
• Knowledge of PACE, CMS, and state regulatory requirements
