Activities Assistant

Responsibilities

• Plan, lead, and evaluate a balanced resident-centered activity program including spiritual, educational, social, and wellness activities.
• Recruit, train, and manage volunteers and team members to support community events and social programs.
• Develop and distribute monthly activity calendars and newsletters to maintain resident communication.
• Manage the activity budget, process monthly expenses, and coordinate with other teams for cost efficiency.
• Conduct resident interviews to design individualized activity plans and lead monthly Resident Council meetings.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations as well as Sunrise quality standards.

Requirements

• 2+ years of supervisory experience, including hiring, coaching, and performance management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Sunrise systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Valid driver’s license (may be required for operating community vehicles).

Preferred Qualifications

• College degree in Recreation, Therapeutic Recreation, Education, Gerontology, Social Work, or a related field.
• Certified Activity Professional (CAP) designation.
• 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
