About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage purchasing and request workflows for print, eBooks, streaming, and other library resources
- Create and track orders in the Library Services Platform and reconcile invoices for payment
- Perform basic and complex copy cataloging using MARC, AACR2, RDA, and Library of Congress standards
- Maintain accurate bibliographic, holdings, and item data in Alma and OCLC WorldCat
- Coordinate collections maintenance, including physical processing, book repair, inventory, and weeding
- Provide training, guidance, and day-to-day oversight of student workers and casual employees
- Serve as a liaison to faculty regarding course reserves and resource requests
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Two years of library experience in an academic setting or relevant professional experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of acquisitions workflows, including ordering, receiving, and invoicing
- Proficiency with library cataloging and metadata standards (MARC, AACR2, RDA, LCSH)
- Experience with Library Services Platforms, specifically Ex Libris Alma
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
- Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience analyzing and configuring acquisitions and cataloging workflows within Ex Libris Alma/Primo
