Acquisition Engineer

Responsibilities

• Bridge the gap between Contracts, Acquisition, and Systems Engineering for Government Space System efforts
• Write Statements of Work (SOW) and contribute to RFI and RFP strategies and documentation
• Manage Major System Acquisitions and Task Orders through processes such as ASC and CRP
• Advise Contracting Officers (CO) and COTRs on contract types, approval authorities, and acquisition best practices
• Oversee contract execution, including Milestone Payment Plans and Incentive Plans
• Identify technical risks and provide unique courses of action to solve complex problems
• Review contractor submissions for technical accuracy and perform detailed critical analysis
• Assist with contract compliance assessments and mentor junior team members

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance
• Educational experience requirements:
• BS/BA with 18+ years of relevant experience
• MS/MA with 15+ years of relevant experience
• PhD with 12+ years of relevant experience
• 15+ years of experience in Space Systems acquisition
• 5+ years of experience working with the Intelligence Community (IC)
• Expertise in DoD and IC acquisition processes, including source selections for Major System Acquisitions
• Deep understanding of contract structures, task orders, fixed-price contracts, and negotiations
• Knowledge of Systems Engineering processes across the full development lifecycle
• Familiarity with IC and DoD acquisition regulations and policies
