Acoustic Engineer

Responsibilities

• Perform acoustic analysis, environmental studies, and noise modeling to deliver effective solutions
• Conduct HVAC and MEP services acoustics studies
• Edit CAD drawings for easy import into acoustic noise modeling software, including site plan simplification and geo-referencing
• Undertake building acoustic calculations for sound insulation, room acoustics, and building services
• Provide acoustic inputs for master plans and environmental impact studies
• Utilize acoustic modeling software to aid calculations
• Collaborate with architects, interior designers, MEP, and structural engineers
• Ensure health and safety practices are embedded in all work in line with company policies

Requirements

• 4-6 years of experience in the acoustic consultancy field (latest experience must be in consultancy)
• Bachelor’s degree in acoustic or architectural engineering (advanced degree preferred)
• Proficiency in CAD and SketchUp
• Knowledge of acoustic modeling software such as Odeon, CATT, EASE, SoundFlow, or CadnaA
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to communicate results via reports and presentations
• Strong understanding of acoustic principles and building services calculations
• Membership of the IOA or MEAS is preferred
• Proficiency in Excel for calculations and formatting
