Accuracy Checking Dispenser

Responsibilities

• Carry out final accuracy checks on dispensed medicines to ensure they match prescriptions and documentation
• Verify patient details, medicine strength, formulation, quantity, and labeling accuracy
• Identify and escalate discrepancies, near misses, and potential dispensing errors immediately
• Maintain clear, accurate, and auditable records of all completed checks
• Support the safe handling of controlled drugs and high-risk medications

Requirements

• Accredited Accuracy Checking Dispenser (ACD) qualification
• Significant experience in a pharmacy environment conducting final accuracy checks
• Strong knowledge of pharmacy legislation, SOPs, and patient safety principles
