Accounts Receivable Specialist

Responsibilities

• Manage the full cycle of accounts receivable processes including invoicing, reconciliation, and payment posting
• Resolve insurance claim denials and resubmit claims with necessary documentation
• Communicate with patients and insurance carriers to resolve billing inquiries and discrepancies
• Monitor aged trial balance reports and manage outstanding balances
• Post insurance and patient payments and reconcile financial transactions
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all applicable billing regulations
• Support month-end closing processes with AR reporting and aging reviews

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• 1–3 years of experience in accounts receivable, medical billing, or insurance claims processing
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
• Knowledge of accounts receivable practices, payment posting, and denial management
• Understanding of CPT, CDT, ICD-10 codes and insurance terminology
• Strong attention to detail and data entry accuracy
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration
• Previous experience in oral surgery
• Experience with insurance payers and reimbursement guidelines
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) or practice management systems
