About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage the full cycle of accounts receivable processes to ensure accurate and timely collection of payments
- Process insurance claim denials and resubmit claims with necessary documentation
- Post insurance and patient payments accurately and reconcile financial transactions
- Communicate with patients and insurance carriers to resolve billing issues
- Monitor aged trial balance reports and identify rejected claims via clearing house reports
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all applicable billing regulations
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1–3 years of experience in accounts receivable, medical billing, or insurance claims processing
- Proficiency with WINOMS or similar practice management systems
- Strong knowledge of CPT, CDT, and ICD-10 codes
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration
- Previous dental, medical, or oral surgery experience
- Experience working with insurance payers and reimbursement guidelines
