About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service to students, staff, parents, and community members regarding student accounts via in-person, phone, and email.
- Ensure prompt and accurate posting of incoming payments, including wire transfers, mailed checks, and scholarship receivables.
- Process payments through remote deposit systems and maintain organized documentation for audit and record-keeping purposes.
- Assist with the maintenance of tuition tables and ensure accurate student billing.
- Manage billing and collections from students and third-party organizations in accordance with specific entity requirements.
- Support annual 1098-T tax form production and distribution.
- Reconcile billing for campus safety, housing, and other student-related charges.
- Prepare schedules for annual financial audits and comply with all federal and state regulations.
- Utilize Argos reporting software to produce accounts receivable reports and maintain updated desk procedures.
Requirements
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in an accounts receivable capacity.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and Word.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage digital documents and learn new software applications quickly.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Not-for-profit accounting experience in a private college setting.
- Knowledge of Ellucian Banner Finance software.
- Knowledge of TouchNet software.
- Knowledge of Argos report writing software.
