Accounts Receivable Specialist

Responsibilities

• Initiate collection efforts via phone, email, or mail
• Maintain detailed customer and collections activity notes
• Investigate and resolve customer inquiries promptly
• Receive customer payments and prepare daily bank deposits
• Post deposits to the accounting system
• Process customer Visa transactions and send confirmations
• Print and distribute customer statements
• Communicate collection progress to Billing Administrators, Controllers, and Project Managers
• Submit requests for customer/vendor credit checks
• Complete new customer setup and direct deposit forms
• Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports
• Lead biweekly or monthly A/R review calls with operational groups

Requirements

• 5+ years of Accounts Receivable or Collections experience in a B2B environment
• Experience in the construction industry preferred
• Post-secondary education preferred
• Proficient in reading and comprehending financial statements
• Knowledge of established accounting practices and procedures
• Experience with prompt payment legislation and construction liens is an asset
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Project)
• Experience with JD Edwards or an Oracle-based ERP system
• Valid G driver's license and ability to travel locally
