Accounts Payable Specialist

Responsibilities

• Manage, direct, and oversee day-to-day accounts payable transactions and processes
• Review and approve incoming invoices, vouchers, and other payment requests to ensure accuracy
• Serve as the primary liaison for external vendors regarding accounts payable matters
• Maintain tax compliance and manage annual Federal 1099 reporting in accordance with IRS requirements
• Handle AP bank-related tasks including check inquiries, stop payments, and positive pay monitoring
• Maintain the corporate credit card database through the online banking portal
• Assist the accounting department in maintaining accurate financial records and providing excellent customer service

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or three years of directly related professional experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytic thinking, organizational skills, and high attention to detail
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and perform sedentary office work
• Willingness to support the Catholic and Franciscan values of the university

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using Ellucian Banner
