Accounts Payable Specialist

Responsibilities

• Process invoices and payments, ensuring all vendor documentation is complete and accurate
• Prepare reports and journal entries for vendor payments and month-end payroll/AP entries
• Review accounts payable aging reports weekly and submit cash requirements to the CFO
• Manage check printing, EFT payments, and credit card transactions
• Prepare the Daily Operating Cash Balance Report and act as petty cash custodian
• Handle daily mail sorting, distribution, and general administrative filing duties
• Provide backup support to the Accounts Receivable Specialist as needed

Requirements

• Associate degree in business or a minimum of two years of progressive experience in AP, AR, or general ledger
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to perform rapid and accurate arithmetic computations
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills for interacting with vendors and staff

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within a Federally Qualified Community Health Center (FQHC)
• Previous experience with healthcare-specific accounting systems and accounts payable processes
