About the role
Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable transactions including supplier, employee, and non-PO invoices
- Manage vendor data by submitting add or change requests and resolving data integrity issues
- Ensure compliance with University policies, purchasing procedures, and governmental regulations
- Assess the accuracy of GST, PST, and HST on invoices and perform necessary self-assessments
- Reconcile invoices against vendor statements and coordinate with suppliers to resolve outstanding items
- Provide customer service support to faculty and administrative units regarding reimbursements and payments
- Assist with month-end reporting and prepare adjusting entries for posting corrections
Requirements
- High School diploma
- Two-year post-secondary diploma in accounting
- 3 years of related experience in accounting or procurement
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of Canadian tax laws
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using PeopleSoft - FMS (Financial Management System)
- Familiarity with computerized accounting and procurement systems
- Strong ability to prioritize, multi-task, and manage high volumes of work under pressure
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence
