Accounts Payable

Responsibilities

• Maintain financial records for MEC and its subsidiaries, including reconciling intercompany accounts, fixed assets, and depreciation expense.
• Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
• Manage vendor payments by monitoring discount opportunities, verifying tax IDs, and resolving invoice or payment discrepancies.
• Process employee expense reports and requests for advances.
• Maintain accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
• Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
• Calculate and report sales tax requirements on paid invoices.

Requirements

• Three years of related experience in accounts payable or accounting.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
• Strong mathematical calculation skills using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Proficiency in operating a 10-key calculator by touch.
• Strong organizational skills for alpha and numerical file maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
