Accounting Technician

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of the general ledger and accounts payable
• Process expenditure requests, including verification of supporting documents and GL account coding
• Manage communications with vendors, employees, and contractors regarding account status and payments
• Enter invoices, check requests, and credit memos into the accounting program
• Audit and verify corporate P-Card expenditures and perform monthly reconciliations
• Prepare batches for check processing and manage electronic bank files
• Reconcile AP balances to the general ledger and assist with monthly and yearly closes
• Track and produce annual 1099 tax statements
• Maintain accurate electronic and hard file systems for disbursements and vendor records

Requirements

• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (relevant experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis)
• Two years of accounting experience, including work with account coding, AP, AR, payroll, or budget analysis
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable principles and cash handling
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Ability to work in an office setting for collaborative tasks such as check printing and distribution

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with Blackbaud software
