Accounting Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee Subsidiary Accounting in Canada, ensuring compliance with governing regulations and internal policies.
• Manage and motivate a team, providing training, resolving conflicts, and delegating tasks to ensure high performance.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, including journal entries and reconciliation.
• Conduct financial analysis of Balance Sheet and P&L accounts, including variance analysis.
• Generate and review financial reports and statements for management.
• Coordinate with Tax and Audit teams to respond to inquiries and provide necessary documentation.
• Monitor financial position, taxation, and cash flows of subsidiaries.
• Review and recommend improvements to existing accounting procedures and business controls.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in general or tax accounting.
• Strong understanding of IFRS and accounting principles.
• Experience working with computerized ledger systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to function effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within a Big Four accounting firm.
