Accounting Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day oversight and direction to the refinery accounting department to ensure efficient work performance.
• Direct the development of the manufacturing expense budget, including annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and actual vs. budgeted analysis.
• Coordinate the monthly closeout of financial accounting systems and oversee month-end financial accruals.
• Review journal entries, approve account reconcilements, and ensure SOX controls are executed effectively.
• Coordinate data collection and analysis for the Solomon Benchmarking Survey.
• Collaborate with personnel at other refineries and corporate offices to improve consistency in accounting practices.
• Assist in implementing new accounting policies and support the Division Controller as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or an advanced degree in accounting.
• Six (6) years of accounting or relevant professional experience.
• Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA certification.
• Prior lead or supervisory experience.
• Experience in refining accounting or the oil and gas industry.
